Pioneer Ponies was born Summer of 2022, after an overwhelming amount of requests from families to offer a program for the littles ones who wanted to be just like their big brother or sister. This is a miniaturized version of the Horse Hollow Day Program. It offers age appropriate farm lessons, such as feeding chickens and ducks and collecting eggs, berry picking, animal handling and safety, but learning to ride, brush, and walk a horse or pony is always the best part of the day! Other activities can include, but are not limited to: painting, clay sculpting, nature walks, hay rides, bounce house, creek wading, frisbee, jump rope, gardening, horse puzzles, horse dramatic play, jewlery making, and nail painting.
This expanded equestrian program is available Mondays and Tuesdays from 9am-2pm only during Fall, Summer, Winter, Spring school breaks following the SLVUSD calendar. All students must be toilet trained, able to change into swimwear, put on shoes or coat without assistance from staff. Dress in layers, bring a lunch and water bottle!
This program is exempt from daycare licencing."Public recreation programs, including summer camps, are license-exempt if they operate only during non-school hours or for under 20 hours each week and fewer than 12 weeks each year. Before-and after-school programs that are operated by public or private schools are also license-exempt, as are the Boy and Girl Scouts, the Boys and girls Club, and similar organizations." https://www.childcarelaw.org
