Mustang Sally

American Mustang, age currently unknown! I am believed to be young! I was born in the wild in Southern California and rounded up in 2020 with lots of other members of my herd. I went to a very large mustang training facility, and I did not do well there! The indoor barn and standard 12x24 stall were very uncomfortable for me, being used to living outside and having space to move. I am very untrusting of humans. Finally, my new owners picked me up! They spend time sitting with me and talking to me every day. I am still very unsure, but  am willing to approach humans on my own now, and eat from their hands. I am happy to be outside again and have more room to move. 

UPDATE: This October, 2023 after two long determined  years I am finally feeling safe enough to allow my humans to pet my body, brush me, and detangle my mane. Teachers and Students have spent many hours sitting with me reading, working with me, and spending time earning my trust. Soon my humans will teach me many more new things, like how to lead on a halter and pick up my hooves. Stay tuned for more progress!
