This is a 60 session intermediate class is for students who have mastered all of the basics in levels one and two. We beleive competition is the least important part of horsemanship and riding. At this level, the most of the instruction that takes place is verbal. Students have the opportunity to compete in the Santa Cruz County 4h/Open Youth Show. Students practice 4 main sections, Rodeo, Western, English, and Other, with sub categories including roping, barrel racing, goat tying, hunter, show jumping, gymkhana, vaulting, endurance, equitation, western pleasure, and more. At this level, students have shown a deep understanding and respect for our horses. They are now allowed to use riding crops during lessons and blunt ended training spurrs. Bits are allowed in competition only.
